R2-Net Server

How do we change the Wifi properties?

Another of the most relevant things, if you want to have full control, is to know how to change the name of the wifi (name SSID) of the server.

To be able to do it there is a file with the configuration of the parameters where we can change various things. The file is hostapd.conf.

Once we are in the raspbian console, we write the following:

sudo nano /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf

Where:

interface=wlan0
#driver=rtl871xdrv
ssid=R2-NET -----------------> SSID Wifi Name
country_code=ES
hw_mode=g
channel=6 -----------------> Channel
macaddr_acl=0
auth_algs=1
ignore_broadcast_ssid=0
wpa=2
wpa_passphrase=0102030405 -> Wifi Password
wpa_key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
wpa_pairwise=CCMP
wpa_group_rekey=86400
ieee80211n=1
wme_enabled=1

We edit the necessary data and exit the editor with “CTRL + X” … saving the file. The next thing is to restart the server for the changes to take effect.
